Tata Young’s ‘I Believe’ is Official Song of AFC Asian Cup 2007™

BANGKOK/KUALA LUMPUR: Thai pop diva Tata Young’s hit number ‘I Believe’ was confirmed today as the Official Song of the AFC Asian Cup 2007™. Tata, who started her singing career after winning a nationwide talent contest in Thailand at the age of 11, has seen her ‘I Believe’ number sell millions of copies to fans across Asia. Tata, an avid football fan, is part of the new wave of Asian talent which has made its mark internationally with appearances at the famed Hollywood Palladium on Sunset Boulevard, a top-rated Australian television show and the Hong Kong Handover Ceremony in 1997 alongside chart-toppers like Lisa Stansfield and Wet Wet Wet. Equally comfortable in Thai and English, she has featured on the cover of Time magazine in a study of successful Eurasians and has been named the sexiest entertainer in Thailand by FHM in 2007. The 15-year music veteran has already sold more than 12 million albums and continues to be a symbol of energy and change for the Asian music industry. The 26-year-old Thai singing sensation will also perform ahead of the opening match of the AFC Asian Cup™ between Thailand and Iraq at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok on July 7. Tata’s fans and football lovers will also have the opportunity to meet her at the AFC Asian Cup 2007™ Football Festival in Future Park Rangsit, Bangkok on July 1.
